Totally Recruitment Ltd are seeking an Sales Engineer who will be required to work out in the field covering the Midlands area on behalf of our client who are a well-established award winning global leader specialising in the design and manufacture of modular data centres, telecommunications racks and integrated outdoor cabinets.
Our client help their customers design efficient and productive data centres to meet the needs of today with provision for future expansion.
This Field Sales Engineer role has been created to aid the expansion of the existing team with over 40 years experience in the field. Ideally this role will either suit an engineering graduate who is looking for a Technical Sales role, or an experienced Sales Engineer within the Data/IT/Telecoms industry and seeking new opportunities.
The responsibility of the Sales Engineer is to consistently create, win and manage new business opportunities and to retain current accounts, ensuring a high level of service through support whilst meeting business requirements.
·Develop new business opportunities by targeting existing customers and prospective customers
·Build long-term relationships with clients through face-to face meetings and telephone communication
·Managing and increasing sales by maintaining and developing customer accounts
·Achieving individual sales targets and managing each of your customer accounts to the agreed level
·Forecasting future sales and buying patterns for key accounts
·Negotiate with customers to win business and improve profit margins
·Research the market place and keep abreast of any new developments to identify new business opportunities
·Carry out presentations at sales meetings and trade exhibitions
·Help prepare, interpret and review technical quotations
·Liaise with the Operations team in order to communicate accurate lead times and production schedules to customers
·Compiling and presenting internal monthly, quarterly and annual reports
·Keeping the management team informed of any significant developments with key customers
·Providing an excellent level of service to all customers
The ideal Sales Engineer will have the following knowledge and experience:
·New business experience with a proven track record of generating and closing high value deals
·Ability to negotiate with key decision makers
·Strong sales and negotiation experience within the same or similar industry
·Strong presentation skills with proven experience presenting to key decision makers
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·Able to demonstrate good organisational qualities and able to multi-task efficiently
·Ability to translate the needs of our customers into working procedures and sales opportunities
·Ability to work calmly and effectively whilst working to various KPI’s
·Ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately to requests for information and assistance, in a concise and easily understandable style
·Previous experience in the industry/sector
·Commercially astute with the ability to think strategically
·Ambition with desire to progress in line with company growth
·A dynamic personality with the attitude to always do better
·The ability to work autonomously
·Ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels
·Engineering HNC/D or Degree educated (beneficial)
·Full clean driving license
·Excellent Package with OTE + Car allowance
