Accounts Assistant – Smethwick £17,000

Job Description

Seeking an Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client based in Smethwick who manufacture and supply a wide range of safety work wear and PPE to large multinational distributors.


·Assisting in maintaining sales and purchase ledgers across the business

·Receiving and processing all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment

·Reconciliation of Direct Debit mandates

·Processing bank transactions

·Maintaining spreadsheets

·Responsible for the company’s payroll

·Sales order processing

·Preparing statutory accounts

·Answering the telephone

·Restocking stationary

·Managing daily post

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be an experienced Accounts Assistant who is available to start as soon as possible and able to hit the ground running and has the ability to work in a very fast paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of the workings of an office
  • Basic understanding of accountancy and book-keeping
  • Would hold or be working towards an AAT certificate or related accountancy qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – to deal with customers and external contacts
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to work on own initiative
  • Computer competent

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday 9am until 5pm

Salary: £17,000
